GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Technician II, Water (Lab) position performs established routine and/or special technical procedures in one or more of the areas of Environmental Waters. This position also adheres to corporate standard policies and procedures related to job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality. This position reports to the Supervisor, Laboratory (Lab)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs essential duties of WT I independently

• Performs training and competency assessments for all TM's and may act as a preceptor

• Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities

  • Assists in evaluation of new and existing test methodologies, new and current equipment.

  • Assists in the development and compliance of policies and procedures

• Assists sup/mgr./designee to monitor workflow and ensure adequate resources

• Troubleshoot analyzer problems and down times including contacting vendor

• Assist with weekly/monthly supplies to ensure adequate inventory levels

• Help with Biomed leadership request and questions

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2-4 years experience - required

• Associate's Degree or Apprenticeship - required

• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office - required

• Minimum two (2) years plus experience is required to work un-supervised - required

• Bachelor degree in biological sciences or related field or Associates Degree - preferred
