Location: Houston, TX 77042

Pay: $60.00-$65.35/hour

Duration: 12-month contract with potential extension

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Specialist with a strong background in cost control, project accounting, and capital project management within the oil & gas industry. This role supports end-to-end cost management, forecasting, and financial analysis for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Monitor budgets and provide early identification of cost overruns and financial risks
• Support cost estimating, budgeting, and change order management
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, and Finance to deliver accurate financial insights
• Prepare and present cost performance reports to stakeholders
• Review invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for cost compliance and coding accuracy
• Maintain data integrity across SAP, EcoSys, and Power BI systems
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in cost management for capital projects, preferably in oil & gas or EPC environments
• Hands-on expertise with SAP (must clearly demonstrate daily usage)
• Experience with EcoSys or similar cost control/forecasting tools
• Strong understanding of cost object controlling, product cost planning, and logistics integration
• Proficiency in Power BI reporting and analytics
• Familiarity with project planning and scheduling processes
• Certifications such as AACE CCP or PMP preferred
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
