TITLE: Electric Technician A


POSITION OBJECTIVE: To safely and productively operate the extrusion line, strive to meet departmental goals, and produce the highest quality film possible.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational certificate or an associate's degree in electronic technology preferred.
  • Journeyman electrician, electrician's license or equivalent desirable.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the repair of electric circuits or the repair of DC and AC motors including Delta and Wye configuration.


  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematic drawings.
  • Basic knowledge for the repair and troubleshooting of printed circuit boards.


  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.


  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Comply with all written and verbal safety programs and use all personnel protective equipment as required by the department and the plant safety policies.
  • Comply with all plant conduct and attendance policies
  • Follow the directions of the maintenance manager, maintenance supervisor, or the shift supervisor on the assigned shift.
  • Complete all necessary forms and paperwork associated with the PM, abnormal analysis, and work order programs.
  • Perform repair on printed circuit boards on the equipment as assigned.
  • Identify and correct electrical and electronic problems in assigned areas of the plant. Some areas may be a special equipment assignment and are not listed. Equipment includes:

    • Electrical Breaker Boxes - Must learn the location of all breakers and which equipment each panel controls.
    • Cellier Breaker Boxes - Troubleshooting the systems to the first level components such as breakers, contactors, switches, and wiring problems. Must be able to use the PID drawings and understand the relationship to the in/out PLC circuits. Must be able to understand the Cellier Cabinet Door Circuit Schemes.
    • Erma - Must have a good understanding of the system and be able to troubleshoot to the first level components and understand how to reset failed circuits.
    • 8M Slitter - Must have a good understanding of the system and be able to troubleshoot to the first level components. Must be able to reset circuits and perform adjustments.
    • 2.3M Slitter - Must have a very good understanding of the system and be able to troubleshoot to the first level components. Must be able to reset failed circuits and perform all adjustments and alignments.
    • Metallizer - Must have a very good understanding of the system and be able to troubleshoot the first level components. Must be able to reset failed circuits and perform all adjustments and alignments. Must be able to recognize operation errors.
    • UPS & Utilities - Must have good knowledge of the systems and be able to rack in and out of the power breakers. Must be able to bypass the UPS system and start and stop the equipment.
    • PCC, Conair, & Auto Loading System - Must be able to troubleshoot and isolate the problems to the failed components.


  • Responsible for good housekeeping practices in assigned work areas.
  • Available for overtime and rotating shift schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Comply with plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
