This Lead Mechanic will serve on a team dedicated to removing and replacing engines before and after off-wing maintenance. Additionally, in this role you will be performing on-wing light maintenance, such as swapping gear boxes and removing LPT modules. This Team Lead will be responsible for covering the duties of the Crew Chief in their absence, as well as mentoring, scheduling, and developing a team of technicians and mechanics. What You'll Do:
- Lead and supervise a crew to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor hours charged to jobs to assure cost control and approve technicians' time on tasks.
- Appraise crew members and recommend salary and status changes, recognizing achievements and administering discipline when necessary.
- Pre-plan work scope and action plans for incoming jobs, including ordering parts as needed.
- Deploy resources and assign tasks to crew members efficiently.
- Uses hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and engine calibration test equipment.
- Implement all paperwork related to job orders and conduct a final review of work order documentation before submitting for quality assurance.
- Monitor progressive sign-offs to ensure all tasks are completed satisfactorily.
- Serve as a technical expert on assigned fleet types, performing hands-on maintenance as necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of engine R&R experience as an Aircraft Mechanic.
- Must have Run & Taxi experience.
- Must have on-wing maintenance experience.
- Prior experience leading or managing a team of mechanics or technicians.
- Must have a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Preferred Characteristics:
- Experience working with Honeywell engines and APUs
- Run & Taxi certifications on Gulfstream, Hawker, Embraer, Challenger, and/or Falcon aircraft.
- Business / Corporate Aviation MRO experience
- Ability to efficiently communicate with individuals at various levels of technical proficiency.
