JOB SUMMARY
The Human Anatomy Lab Assistant supports the successful delivery of anatomy-related
coursework through active participation in all course activities, laboratory sessions, and
instructional preparation. This role ensures a high-quality learning environment by assisting
faculty, supporting students, and maintaining laboratory standards throughout the course.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
  • Attend all course activities as required by the course director(s). Arrive on time and remain present until each activity is completed.
  • Communicate proactively with course director(s) regarding any planned or unplanned absences or late arrivals. Avoid scheduling major trips or commitments during the assigned course period; planned absences require prior approval from the Director of CASE before course director approval.
  • Prepare thoroughly for each laboratory session, including understanding dissection goals, expected structures, and procedural workflow.
  • Assist students during laboratory sessions by guiding them toward correct anatomical structures and proper dissection techniques.
  • Support CASE lab staff with laboratory setup, breakdown, and ongoing needs throughout the course as directed
  • Perform detailed dissections and/or prosections as assigned by the course director(s). Ensure completed work is reviewed by the course director(s) or their designated proxy to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Serve as the "eyes and ears" of the laboratory by monitoring the learning environment and identifying any issues. Report laboratory, equipment, or safety concerns promptly to CASE lab staff, course director(s), or the Director of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory, as appropriate.
