Top Required Skills * 5+ years of experience in the cable or telecommunications industry, with a strong background in legacy telephony, including POTS lines, DMARC, copper circuits, and traditional phone systems * Proven experience running, installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting lowvoltage copper cabling (Cat5/Cat6) * Customerfacing experience with the ability to communicate professionally in secure and commercial environments * Strong handson experience with POTS copper line testing and troubleshooting NicetoHave Skills * Trouble ticket management * Telephony and telecommunications systems * VoIP * Structured cabling * Fiber optics experience (training available) Job Description This technician will support an existing team, focusing on MAC (Move, Add, Change) activities and new construction projects. While much of the infrastructure is transitioning to VoIP, this role will primarily support emergency and classified hardline systems that will remain copperbased. Responsibilities include responding to daily trouble tickets, assisting with disconnects, provisioning new POTS lines, and supporting the MAC team during downtime. The technician will work extensively with DMARC and communication rooms, identifying copper circuits, client and provider demarcations, and performing testing and troubleshooting using butt sets, tone generators, multimeters, probes, and similar tools. The role also includes exposure to VoIP installations, emergency service lines, elevator phones, and carrierprovided telephony systems. Fiber experience is a plus, but the position is primarily copperfocused, with opportunities to train and grow into fiber work. technicians on POTS lines, phone systems, and telephony, and assist with structured cabling and MAC work during slower periods. Ideal candidate would be someone who has previously worked at Verizon or AT&T.
