DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will have a range of responsibilities that are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Farm Show Complex. Your role involves maintaining all equipment and assisting with the setup, maintenance, and teardown of various events held at the complex. Additionally, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and buildings, which includes managing equipment operations, handling trash and custodial tasks, performing general maintenance, and clearing snow. The Farm Show Complex operates in a fast-paced environment, requiring you to meet deadlines to ensure that events are properly prepared and maintained.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • FREE on-site parking
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,397.00 (before taxes). (Shift differential is $1.25 an hour)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Condition of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • Experience working around animals and livestock and in large-scale public events.
