Overview

ENERCON is seeking an experienced Civil Site Engineer to join our growing, fast-paced Substation (Power Delivery) Team! In this role, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary group of engineers within Substation as well as across the company, including Distribution, Transmission, and Data Center teams. This position offers exposure to a wide range of substation design projects across the United States, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. This position can be based in the following locations:

  • Lake Mary, FL
  • Palm Beach Gardens, FL
  • Nashville, TN
  • Spring, TX (Suburb of Houston)
  • Remote will be considered for those not close to an ENERCON office

Responsibilities

Imagine a day where your civil engineering expertise shapes the infrastructure powering entire communities - from concept design to project completion.

  • Technical Leadership & Design: Serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) for site civil engineering on substation and utility infrastructure projects including design and analysis of site grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, land development, and overall site layout. Lead and review site civil design activities, including grading plans, drainage systems, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation or like tools. Develop and review engineering calculations, design reports, and civil construction drawings supporting substation site development. Maintain expertise in site civil best practices for utility infrastructure, including grading, stormwater design, and erosion control
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Interface directly with clients to discuss technical aspects of site civil design, provide engineering guidance, and support project decision-making. Serve as a key technical communicator across project stakeholders, ensuring project requirements, technical solutions, and risks are clearly communicated. Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with clients, internal teams, and project managers
  • Project Planning & Oversight: Prepare design hour estimates and cost estimates for civil engineering and drafting efforts during project planning and proposal development. Provide technical oversight and quality review for civil deliverables produced by engineers and designers
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including electrical, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineers, to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Construction & Regulatory Support: Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing contractor submittals, and supporting field activities as needed. Assist in permit application packages and plan submittals to regulatory agencies #LI-MB1

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum five (5) years of consulting experience in an engineering consulting environment
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • Significant experience in site civil engineering, with strong expertise in design and analysis of site grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, land development, and overall site layout
  • Experience supporting utility, energy, or substation infrastructure projects is strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and project teams
  • Demonstrated experience preparing engineering effort estimates and project cost estimates

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with developing a SPCC plan is considered a plus, but not a primary requirement
  • Experience with substation foundation design or structural design is considered a strong plus, but not a primary requirement

Pay Range

USD $117,000.00 - USD $179,000.00 /Yr.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
