JOB TITLE: Central Design Engineer Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Engineer I Assists experienced engineers in developing studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides analytical support for consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Collects and compiles financial data for budget and actual costs of projects. Engineer II & Staff Engineer Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities under an experienced engineer. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects under the guidance of an experienced engineer. Sr. Engineer Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers because of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Frequently operates independently and seeks guidance when appropriate. Generally, is looked to be a team lead. Operates independently with minimal instruction from supervisor. Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred, from an accredited university (ABET). Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and design theory required. Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices. * Engineer I - 0-2 years of engineering experience Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: Engineer I Engineer II Staff Engineer Sr Engineer Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Valid driver's license required. Must have a safe driving history. Working Conditions: Most work is performed in an office with field work as necessary to perform the job. Travel to other locations within the company is required. Position requires work beyond normal working hours depending on workload, project deadlines, and service restoration efforts. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
