Job Description: Principal Storage Architect

Location: Doral, FL (Onsite - 3 days/week)
Travel: Up to 1 week per quarter (shipboard travel, if required)

Position Overview

The Principal Storage Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and management of enterprise storage and data protection solutions across on-premises, shipboard, and cloud environments. This role ensures high availability, scalability, security, and performance of storage infrastructure while guiding engineering teams and managed service providers in delivering reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise storage solutions across SAN, NAS, and cloud platforms
• Develop and implement data protection, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Lead deployment, configuration, and maintenance of storage and backup systems
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and third-party vendors
• Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and scalability of storage environments
• Manage and support Dell PowerMax and Dell PowerScale (Isilon) storage platforms
• Administer and optimize Veritas NetBackup environments
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to align storage with business needs
• Ensure compliance with security standards, governance policies, and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage and backup issues across Windows and Linux environments

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage architecture and implementation
• 10+ years of experience in data protection, backup, and disaster recovery
• Strong expertise with:




• Dell PowerMax
• Dell PowerScale (Isilon)
• Veritas NetBackup




• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proven experience in a Technical Lead or Architect role
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
