About This Role

The Alan Levin Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Kansas State University invites applications from individuals with background in mechanical and/or nuclear engineering for two non-tenure track instructional positions at the Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor level. Required qualifications include a doctorate or M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. Preference is given to candidates with teaching and/or industry experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in thermal/fluids sciences, mechanical system design, and controls/instrumentation areas. In addition to traditional classroom and laboratory instructions, the successful candidate is expected to supervise students on capstone design projects, advise students, and support program development.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site. This position is required to be on campus for courses and advising of students.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Required qualifications include a doctorate or M.S. degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field.


The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Additional Role Information:



  • Preference is given to candidates with teaching and/or industry experience.
