Overview

Joining our Construction & Manufacturing Team will enable you to build the buildings on which people depend; collaborating with your team to overcome obstacles and fix problems on the job site using your skills. Strong networks are formed on construction projects because everyone on the team depends on each and every team member to get the job done.

Oversees the Commissioning Group ensure profit, schedule, quality and safety expectations are met. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, project assignment, terminating and developing commissioning personnel. Responsible for contract reviews, budget tracking, and overall, all contractual reviews for all scopes of work. Owns and continually improves the establishment of commissioning policy and

procedures at the corporate level. Owns business development to ensure continued growth of the Commissioning Group and Haskell overall growth.

At the Project Level:

Directs & coordinates construction operations to ensure profit, schedule, quality and safety expectations are met for assigned projects. Manages staffing requirements to meet schedule and operational needs for turnover to the owner. Makes recommendations for project staffing and construction personnel, including hiring, firing, promotions, disciplinary action, training, and development. Implements standards and policies concerning procedures, technology, safety and quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an innovative commissioning software platform, integrating it seamlessly with other MEP engineering tools.
  • Establish and lead a new commissioning department, recruiting and mentoring a team of top-tier professionals with an emphasis on being the most convenient and reliable member of the project's consulting team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the platform aligns with broader company goals and client needs.
  • Owns the commissioning specs and processes with continually improvement as a major focus.
  • Provides support to the commissioning staff to ensure full transparency and upholding an open-door policy.
  • Owns and updates the commissioning specs and training as needed to ensure a cohesive commissioning process.
  • High communication to all business groups for continued growth and development and maintain high departmental relationships.
  • Performs period inspections of job site and the commissioning software to ensure safety, schedule, key project indicators, and project needs are being meet.
  • Documents and maintains commissioning best practices and policies.
  • Drives the managers to maintain high customer satisfaction and focus
  • Demonstrates the ability to get results; manages competing demands in fast paced environment; identifies and creates contingency solutions to ensure timely execution.
  • Manages project cost control including staffing projections, cost reports, and forecasting project costs for possible equipment needs.
  • Manages staffing in the Commissioning group and upholds the highest standards in ensuring a strong cohesive team.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
  • Supervises others.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering field and 10+ years of experience in commissioning preferred, or a combination of education and experience.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Advanced knowledge of the commissioning processes and procedures for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communications and analytical skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and lead staff.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
