Job Description:

Echo Vascular Tech (PRN)

The Echo Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role produces high-quality diagnostic images, monitors patients throughout procedures, and collaborates with physicians and clinical staff to ensure accurate results and safe patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography and vascular ultrasound procedures according to department protocols.

  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by physicians.

  • Verify patient identity, orders, and medical history prior to procedures.

  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort.

  • Assist physicians with diagnostic imaging procedures as needed.

  • Document patient care activities and procedure information in the electronic health record.

  • Ensure images are correctly archived in PACS and transmitted as needed.

  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

  • Order and restock supplies and maintain an organized work area.

  • Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and clinical teams to coordinate patient care.

  • Assist with training ultrasound students and new team members as needed.

  • Follow hospital safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Sonography program or equivalent education.

  • ARRT, ARDMS, CCI, or RCS registration required or eligible.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.

  • Echo/Vascular registration must be obtained within 1 year of hire if not already credentialed.

  • Less than one year of experience required; 1-2 years of ultrasound experience preferred.

  • Ability to work with patients of all ages including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
