Overview

Do you excel at building technical talent pipelines, advanced sourcing, and partnering with hiring managers?

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sourcing Talent Acquisition Specialist to support our growing construction and engineering teams. This role is ideal for a recruiter who understands the AEC industry, thrives in a project-driven environment, and excels at sourcing hard-to-find technical talent.

You will partner closely with talent acquisition colleagues, hiring managers, and project leaders to build strong pipelines and support both current and future project staffing needs.

This is a part-time opportunity with the possibility of going full-time in the future.



Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

    Partner with talent acquisition, construction, engineering, and operations leaders to define role requirements and support project-based hiring needs.
  • Proactively source and engage experienced construction and engineering professionals, including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction Managers, Inspectors, and Engineers.
  • Screen resumes and conduct interviews to assess candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies aligned with project timelines, geographic needs, and workforce plans.
  • Build and maintain pipelines of passive and active candidates using industry-specific job boards, referrals, networking, and social platforms.
  • Provide pipeline visibility and recruiting insights, including market trends, talent availability, and hiring risks.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant records in ATS and HRIS systems, including dispositions and recruiting metrics.
  • Support career fairs and outreach initiatives focused on engineering, construction management, and technical programs.
  • Escalate employee relations concerns as appropriate and maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel information.
  • Occasional Travel.


Qualifications

Experience

  • 3+ years of recruiting or sourcing experience, preferably within construction, engineering, or the A/E/C industry.
  • Proven success sourcing technical and field-based roles in competitive or talent-scarce markets.
  • Prior work experience with agency/third-party search firm is preferred
  • Experience supporting project-based or geographically distributed hiring.
  • Demonstrated expertise using advanced sourcing techniques, including Boolean search and passive candidate outreach.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), resume databases, and social media sourcing tools.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill and quality of hire.
  • iCIMS Applicant Tracking experience is a plus

Education & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction and engineering roles, terminology, and career paths.
  • Knowledge of employment and recruitment laws, including EEO and Affirmative Action requirements.
  • Familiarity with industry certifications or licenses (PE, EIT, PMP, CCM, OSHA) a plus.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and requisitions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess recruiting data and recommend effective hiring solutions.
  • Self-starter who works independently while collaborating effectively with recruiting and project teams.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

Guidance/Responsibility:

  • Receives overall guidance on emphasis and approach from the Director of Talent Acquisition and Retention.
  • Works independently to determine sourcing approaches and make day-to-day decisions within established priorities.
  • Provides recruiting metrics insights to support quality and hiring objectives.

Supervisory:

  • Reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition and Retention.
  • No direct reports.

Status: Part-Time
