Machinist Lead - 2nd shift

Join us as a Machinist Lead in our Delavan, WI facility.

You will be the go-to person for 2nd shift Machining employees and will demonstrate leadership in attaining production goals, objectives, productivity and quality targets.

Job Duties:

• You will be a working lead for the machinist department
• Updates and track work center and value stream MDI metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash and Culture).
• Coaches team members on standard work, MDI Metrics and overall workflow.
• Utilizes SAP reports for delivery, cost (efficiency) and parts look up.
• Supports assembly and materials departments to ensure processes run smoothly and uninterrupted.
• Stay current on all available resources, including company communication, to deliver exceptional team member experience.
• Responds to team member questions and concerns promptly and courteously, directing them to appropriate resources and leaders for escalation, if needed.
• Communicates safety hazards and improvement ideas to team, participate in safety awareness programs and meetings, and complete initial notification of event paperwork for Near Miss, Property Damage, First Aid, and Injury.
• Reviews and interprets prints for operators concerning operational issues.
• Utilizes and coaches team members on the red-tag process and how to identify non-conforming material.

Key Qualifications:

• Must have 5+ years of experience in a CNC machining environment
• Must have experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing is preferred

Position hours/shifts (Overtime Available!):

2nd shift: 2pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs.

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $28 to $30/hr. DOE. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Determination of pay rate may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
