Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ, Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is part of an Enterprise Capital Management technology team focused on ensuring regulatory capital reporting compliance under Basel rules. The selected candidate will be responsible for hands-on application development within a fast-paced agile environment, contributing to a new, scalable capital reporting and analysis platform. Responsibilities: Perform hands-on application development to support current and target state processes Partner with multiple technology teams to implement the target architecture and migration to a strategic platform Develop solutions for data sourcing, calculation of risk-weighted assets, and business logic for computing financial elements Define process-flow and formulas for generating Basel rules-based capital ratios Work within agile methodologies and SDLC processes Requirements: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline 10+ years of applicable experience 8+ years of experience in Python development 7+ years of SQL programming experience, preferably with databases such as Oracle Exadata 5+ years of UNIX scripting experience Experience with unit test mock frameworks Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills Expertise in performance profiling, with the ability to identify performance improvements and memory optimizations Experience in large-scale enterprise application implementation Excellent communication skills Desired skills: 2+ years of Java development experience Experience with an internal banking platform Programming experience with Hadoop or other big data distributed ecosystems Knowledge of performance tuning data-intensive applications Background in capital calculations Knowledge of cloud computing or distributed computing Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
