What You'll Do

SourceAmerica is seeking an Advisor, Workforce Development to join our Mission Services team. This role is responsible for developing and leading assignments that align with the organization's strategic objectives. This position creates resources and partnerships that enhance the work experience and promotional potential of workers with disabilities in the AbilityOne program. Oversees internal and external projects, ensuring they comply with U.S. AbilityOne Commission (Commission) policies, SourceAmerica goals, and initiatives. Operates as a subject matter expert on rehabilitation best practices and national trends for internal and external stakeholders. Manages strategic relationships with other government disability programs. Provides direct guidance to Nonprofit Agencies (NPAs) on workforce-related matters.

You'll also oversee the development of graphics for presentations and contribute to creating compelling proposal content. To thrive in this role, you'll bring strong relationshipbuilding skills, excellent writing and editing abilities, graphic development experience, and the ability to think both strategically and creatively.

*Due to the requirements of this position, candidates must live within 30 commuting miles or less of the SourceAmerica's National Office, Vienna, VA; Kennesaw, GA; Rosemont, IL, or Arlington, TX field offices and work 2-3 days per week in the office.

How You Will Spend Your Day ...

  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with disability community groups, including federal agencies.
  • Serve as an expert advisor to internal and external stakeholders on workforce development and rehabilitation best practices.
  • Provides direct consultation to SourceAmerica's nationwide NPA network to advise on the development, expansion, and sustainment of human service programming.
  • Identify potential challenges, risks, or success blockers that could impact program viability.
  • Track and assess program outcomes.
  • Produces reports and delivers presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leads the development, administration, and evaluation of grant-funded demonstration projects and/or external partnerships.
  • Work closely with service providers, external partners, impacted communities, expert consultants, and internal colleagues.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional working groups to support SourceAmerica's strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Coordinate stakeholder groups and manage timelines to achieve results.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the development and administration of complex programs.

Salary Range

The salary for this position falls in a range between $115,000 - $125,000 depending on your experience and geographic location in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, Public Policy, Workforce Development, or a closely related field.
  • 10+ of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, human services, or related program management roles.
  • Experience in program management and building, nurturing, and leading nationwide projects.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the development and administration of complex programs.
  • Ability to network and develop sound working relationships.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team.
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience creating and giving meaningful presentations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in workforce development, disability services, vocational rehabilitation, or related human services fields.
  • Working understanding of the AbilityOne Program.
  • Knowledge of national workforce development issues impacting the employment of people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of government programs impacting the employment of people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge and direct experience with other disadvantaged or underrepresented groups that intersect with the disability community.
  • Experience working in human services.
  • Direct experience collaborating with people with disabilities.

Work Environment

Our organization offers a hybrid work model-where employees work in our office two to three days per week and work from home the balance of the workweek. *Due to the requirements of this position, candidates must live within 30 commuting miles or less of the SourceAmerica's National Office, Vienna, VA; Kennesaw, GA; Rosemont, IL, or Arlington, TX field offices and work 2-3 days per week in the office.
