Job Title: Arbitrator I

Location(s): Euless, TX
(Hybrid: Remote: Monday & Friday)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review customer complaints and mechanic reports regarding vehicle condition.
  • Inspect vehicles to assess repair requirements and authorize second opinions when needed.
  • Explain auction policies, complaint procedures, and arbitration processes to customers.
  • Mediate disputes between buyers and sellers, negotiating repairs or pricing to reach mutually acceptable resolutions and maintain completed sales.
  • Identify and resolve post-sale issues such as title discrepancies, mileage concerns, or frame damage.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for each arbitration case and coordinate with sales personnel for relevant vehicle information.
  • Liaise with federal and state authorities on issues such as odometer discrepancies and salvage vehicle concerns.
  • Promote auction services, including post-sale inspections, to drive additional business.
  • Evaluate customer claims against national arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines; support financial decision-making related to claims.
  • Collaborate with internal departments during fact-finding and investigation phases of complaints.
  • Screen and process vehicles eligible for post-sale inspections.
  • Communicate timelines, costs, and processes for inspections and buyer claims to all stakeholders.
  • Adhere to safety standards and actively support workplace safety initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of automotive, mechanical, or body shop experience preferred, including complaint handling and resolution.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Effective report writing skills preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state vehicle arbitration laws.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, speaking, and hearing.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift 1-20 pounds.
  • Vision capabilities including close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Schedule & Location:
  • Hybrid schedule:
    • Remote: Monday & Friday
    • Onsite: Tuesday-Thursday
  • Initial training requires full-time onsite presence for the first few weeks.

Location Options:

  • Matteson, IL
  • Euless, TX (if applicable)
