Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



  • Contributing to cost reduction initiatives for responsible locations.
  • Evaluate Supplier quotes and services.
  • Prepares and processes purchasing orders.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with Suppliers to stay current with trends and technologies, products, and services.
  • Resolves problems and issues arising from purchases of goods, services, supplies and equipment with internal and external customers.
  • Monitors On-Time Deliveries (OTD).
  • Expedite shipments.
  • Prepares documentation for product to be Returned to Vendor (RTV).
  • Actively participate in required training and development programs and electives as suits one's needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.
  • Other duties as needed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in the field or related area
  • Skills:




  • Procurement experience in an MRP environment





  • Possess analytical, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills





  • Ability to multitask and possess strong attention to detail





  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight





  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree
  • APICS or ISM certifications a plus


PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Office, Finance, Corporate, Mill Supervisory

Ability to sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distance, and climb stairs.



  • Bend at waist - occasional

  • Lift above waist height - occasional
  • Lift over 50 lbs. - rare
  • Repetitive use of hands - constant for clerical duties
  • Stand/walk - occasional

  • Hearing - preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery, mobile equipment, emergencies

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, airborne particles (sawdust).
