Hourly Rate: $23.92 - $35.88

Job Summary: The DHHS System Navigator supports the No Wrong Door philosophy by connecting customers to the appropriate services. This position will assist clients in the Benefit Enrollment Center to apply for benefits. This Navigator will collaborate with appropriate parties to assist with inquiries regarding their benefits as well as assist with WisGo, when applicable.

Job Duties:

• Provide accurate and timely information related to public and private benefits a customer may be eligible for and how to apply. Utilize information found in State and Federal websites including Benefit Checkup, Peer Place, Cares, FH, etc.
• Provide guidance to customers using the Benefit Enrollment Center and self-service kiosks in applying for publicly funded benefits. Accurately enter customer information into the Cumulus database for all assisted applications. Refer customers to benefit specialist for more complex needs.
• Screen customers to determine WisGo eligibility, describe WisGo and Reduced Fare eligibility criteria to customers, and take photos of customers for WisGo identification cards.
• Participate in activities and meetings that are designed to identify gaps and improve system coordination. Attend trainings and meetings that will expand knowledge of services available both internal and external.
• Complete and maintain appropriate and timely documentation as well as reporting related to customers in applicable databases (i.e. Cumulus, SHIP, Peer Place, and other systems utilized within the ADRC). Act as a liaison between IM/ADRC.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
• Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least one (1) year of experience working in an office.
• Advanced knowledge of all computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of programs relating to social services of the target populations, community resources and services available to target populations. Skills needed for success in this role include customer focus, excellent verbal communication skills, patience, ability to write succinctly, professionalism, critical thinking, and being accountable. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other units and organizations within and throughout the county. Proficient in data collection, analysis and in the use of general office equipment.
