Strattec Security Corporation (Nasdaq listed STRT) designs, develops and manufactures highly engineered products primarily for the automotive industry. Headquartered in Glendale WI, Strattec has a history spanning over 110 years of providing innovative security, user interface and power access products including power sliding doors, door handles, lift gates, latches, key fobs, steering column & ignition locks and related solutions. The Company's largest customers are three leading automotive OEMs in North America, but products are also shipped to other original equipment manufacturers ("OEMs") around the world.

Strattec is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our procurement team for an exciting internship opportunity. This role provides students with meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional environment while supporting a variety of projects and daytoday departmental activities.

You will collaborate closely with team members and gain exposure to business processes, tools, and projects, while building valuable skills for future career growth. This 11-week internship program will provide a blend of comprehensive real world experience, networking events and development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

    Supplier Research & Sourcing: Assist in identifying potential vendors, conducting market research, and performing supplier risk assessments.
  • Bid Support (RFx): Help prepare and distribute Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotations (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) documents.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze spend data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain procurement dashboards to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Order & Inventory Management: Process purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, resolve shipping discrepancies, and update inventory records.
  • Contract Administration: Maintain contract files, track expiration dates for renewals, and assist with compliance documentation.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with suppliers to resolve invoice issues and maintain updated vendor databases (e.g., in SAP or Oracle).


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Logistics, or related field
  • Basic understanding of procurement, supply chain, or business operations (coursework counts)
  • Strong analytical skills - able to work with data, compare vendors, evaluate costs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables are a plus)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.) is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling purchase orders or contracts
  • Organizational skills - ability to manage multiple requests at once
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Purchasing processes
    • Vendor evaluation
    • Contract terminology
    • Inventory management

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Full-time during the summer months
  • Location: Hybrid, on-site 4 days per week.
