Shipping Clerk (6 Month Contract) - Tacoma

Location: 2330 South 78th St. Tacoma, WA 98409

Pay: Approx $26 per hour

Type: 6-month contract with potential to turn permanent

Primary Duties

• Clean lenses with lens cleaner, Isopropyl Alcohol, and/or Ink Remover and inspect lenses for scratches or any visual defects
• Place appropriate literature in tray
• Log daily/hourly production numbers
• Scan work tickets to produce billing invoice
• Wrap final product and prepare for shipment to customers

Secondary Duties

• Stock supplies and participate in 5S
• Cross-Train and help when needed and as directed by Supervisor, Production Manager, or General Manager

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One-year certification from college/technical school OR two years directly related maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Optical experience in tracing, blocking, edging and final inspecting a plus but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
• Occasionally required to stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Frequent hand manipulation, reach with hands and arms and tactile operations
• Lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds on occasion
• Occasionally required to use stools or ladders to reach high shelving
• Close vision abilities and capacity to adjust focus

Safety Requirements

• Understanding of workplace safety programs
• Wear required PPE (closed-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, long sleeved shirts)
• Safe tool handling practices
• Moderate to loud noise work environment with moving machinery
