STS Technical Services is hiring an Automotive Electrical Technician in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing electrical systems in advanced vehicle assemblies, including wiring harnesses and electrical components. Job Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical defects while supporting the assembly and inspection of vehicle systems and components. This includes identifying discrepancies that impact equipment performance and product quality, as well as assembling and repairing wiring harnesses and electrical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards; use best practices to follow all safe procedures in assembling and testing of all products in assigned job function
- Ability to interpret and process information through interaction with the MES System, including performing required tasks and confirming results
- Read and interpret wiring schematics
- Follow written instructions and input data accurately to prevent assembly issues and quality defects
- Inspect and repair supplier wiring harnesses
- Diagnose and repair electrical defects throughout the NGDV
- Utilize specialized equipment including DVM, torque tools, DC tools, and hand tools
- Assist in identifying root causes of defects and implementing preventative actions
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years or more of relevant experience or high school diploma or equivalent education
- Previous experience with basic hand tools
- Previous experience with basic electrical tools
- Vocational training, apprenticeship, or related experience in automotive electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing operations environment
- ASE Certification
- Previous battery electric vehicle experience
- Zero safety or quality incidents within the last 12 months
- Ability and willingness to learn how to operate a truck and transport within facility grounds
