In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required; some college coursework is preferred. Candidates should have 6 to 12 months of related experience in a fast-paced customer service environment, preferably within a healthcare setting. Experience with healthcare processes and insurance verification is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. The position also requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public. Experience with Epic and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred. Bilingual proficiency is strongly preferred. JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Patient Services Representative Supervisor, the Patient Service Representative provides support with the daily activities which includes greeting patients, providing registration, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, filing and patient referrals for Recovery Clinic patients in accordance with company policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires High School diploma or GED, college preferred. Requires 6 to 12 months of related experience within a busy customer service environment, preferably in a healthcare setting. Healthcare and insurance verification experience preferred. Requires proven attention to detail and strong customer service skills. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public. Epic experience and medical terminology skills are preferred.
