About the role:

As a Principal Delivery Stream WBS 3 Engineer you will provide senior technical and execution leadership for mechanical module procurement and delivery activities supporting domestic projects and a domestic restart initiative. This role is responsible for driving complex procurement execution across the full lifecycle, including pre-purchase order planning, purchase order placement, execution oversight, delivery coordination, and final turnover of mechanical modules to the customer.

The Principal WBS 3 Engineer plays a key role in shaping and executing delivery strategies for mechanical modules, working closely with the WBS 3 Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with project schedules, technical requirements, and customer commitments. You will provide technical leadership for mechanical module procurement activities, including support of readiness and early execution activities associated with the domestic restart initiative.

The Principal Engineer leads supplier engagement efforts, supports supplier qualification and capacity assessments, and guides resolution of complex technical, commercial, and schedule challenges. You will support advanced project execution responsibilities such as integrated schedule development, risk and opportunity management, cost and performance monitoring, and accountability for achieving defined financial and schedule milestones. The Principal WBS 3 Engineer serves as an important technical interface between Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Project Management, and external suppliers to ensure delivery outcomes.

This hybrid position will report to the Senior Manager APX WBS 3&8, Mechanical Modules and Valves and be located at our Global Headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead program and delivery execution by developing program management models that align with global execution frameworks and ensure Westinghouse's leadership in the AP1000 Energy System portfolio.
  • Bring procurement strategy and decisionmaking by guiding supplier selection, conducting technical evaluations and quality audits, and partnering with GSCS to establish strategic sourcing and execution plans.
  • Be the primary project interface, overseeing project status, delivery performance, and coordination across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Project Management, suppliers, and customer sites.
  • Forecast program performance by identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives are met.
  • Provide leadership and team development by directing delivery stream teams across all locations, mentoring new team members, and supporting staffing and training plans for project execution.



Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience required, typically 10-12 years.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Engineering Discipline Required. MBA or master's degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience working with multinational teams.
  • Define the problem statement and develop a plan of action for themselves and their teams and understand how to report that back up the management chain.



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,100 to $129,000 per year.
