The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking aQuality Technician - FAIto work out of its state-of-the-art facility inSidney, NY.

The Quality Technician FAIorganizes the workload associated with First Article Inspections (FAI's) and source inspections (customer and internal) for various major customers, including Boeing, Honeywell, GE Aviation and Rockwell Collins.

The key responsibilities of thisQuality Technician - FAIinclude, but are not limited to:



  • Review completed assembly work orders/shippers daily for Q requirements
  • Disposition workload accordingly to gage inspection, final inspection, customer source or shipping
  • Gain access to customer portals to upload customer quality documents and information
  • Compile necessary quality related documents such as FAI reports, vendor certs and plating reports for customer orders
  • Assure accuracy of FAI programs and records, prioritize them for gage inspection personnel to work on and assist them as necessary
  • Assist with FAI software enhancements
  • Manage monthly source schedule to efficiently ship as much as possible
  • Obtain delegated source inspection status for customers such as GE, Honeywell, and Collins as needed
  • Build relationships with customers to communicate issues and coordinate resolutions efficiently and effectively
  • Communicate and track quality inventory to ensure swift disposition and report weekly progress
  • Perform other work assignments and additional projects as necessary and assigned
  • Escalate opportunities for improvement as necessary to aid in the success of the Quality department

Salary: $50,000 - $65,000

The Person

The key skills and qualities of aQuality Technicianat Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; post-high school technical experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with engineering blueprints and MRP software packages
  • Ability to interface with customers and internal support teams to resolve issues and FAI acceptance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and company POs
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal), ability to interact with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and customers
  • Proficiency in inspection and quality software (e.g., CMM software, QMS modules, Minitab/SPC, Microsoft Office)
  • Strong organization and time management, ability to prioritize multiple FAIs and urgent product launches
  • Extended periods of sedentary, computer based work
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
  • Ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment
