    Position Summary:

    Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Virginia Tech Intern to support the Molecular Spectroscopy team during Summer 2026. In this role, you will support projects focused on Shimadzu's Molecular Spectroscopy product line, including the development of application-focused technical content and instructional materials. This role is ideal for a student who is interested in analytical instrumentation, enjoys both laboratory and communication-based work, and wants to gain exposure to how scientific products are supported in a professional environment.

    JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:



    • Operate UV/Vis spectrophotometers and related Molecular Spectroscopy instruments in support of application-based projects
    • Assist with the design and execution of experiments to generate original analytical data
    • Support the development of Application Notes for use in sales, marketing, and customer support efforts
    • Help plan, script, and produce instructional video content for Molecular Spectroscopy products
    • Collaborate with Product Management and the Southeast Regional team
    • Assist with preparing written summaries, presentations, and other project-related materials
    • Present internship outcomes and key learnings at the conclusion of the program



    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:



    • Currently enrolled as a Virginia Tech undergraduate student and not graduating in May 2026
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
    • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to bridge science with industry
