Job Description
Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.


The Manual Machinist III is a senior technical machinist responsible for performing complex machining operations, advanced machine setups, and supporting production with technical expertise. This role also provides guidance and mentorship to junior machinists while ensuring machining operations meet aviation industry standards.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform complex machine setups and operations on large or critical aviation components.
  • Operate specialized equipment such as vertical turret lathes (VTL), horizontal boring mills, or other large machining equipment.
  • Develop machining strategies for complex repairs and machining operations.
  • Interpret detailed drawings, repair manuals, and work instructions.
  • Perform advanced machining calculations for speeds, feeds, and machining sequences.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy and quality of machined components.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining problems and implement solutions.
  • Assist supervisors in improving machining processes and efficiency.
  • Train and mentor apprentice and junior machinists.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, aviation regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Support production goals by maintaining efficient machining operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

EDUCATION:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited school.



EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 5+ years of machining or manufacturing experience.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:



  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Advanced machining and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Ability to machine large or complex aviation components.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling.
  • Leadership and mentoring capability.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS


While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals.



WORK ENVIRONMENT


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.
