Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Orlando, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • As a Night Shift Wheel True Operator, you'll be at the heart of our maintenance operations, ensuring our train wheels are perfectly profiled for the next day's service.
  • Skillfully operate and monitor specialized wheel reprofiling machines (e.g., Hegenscheidt wheel lathes) to restore trainset wheels to precise specifications.
  • Perform accurate measurement, setup, and execution of wheel reprofiling operations, adhering strictly to engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of reprofiled wheels to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall quality, ensuring they meet all regulatory and company standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor operational issues with the wheel lathe equipment, performing routine preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all wheel reprofiling activities, including measurements, machine settings, and maintenance performed.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Work effectively within the night shift maintenance team, communicating progress and any issues to supervisors and other team members.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge of wheel reprofiling technologies and best practices.

Here's what you'll get:

Hours: 40 hours/week - 3rd shift.

11pm-7am (Will need flexibility between 7pm and 7am)
Length: Contract (Potential to convert).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a machine operator, with a focus on precision machining or heavy equipment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Certification in machining, mechanical maintenance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with wheel lathes (e.g., Hegenscheidt) or similar CNC machinery in a rail environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
  • Ability to identify and resolve operational issues efficiently and effectively.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including standing, lifting, and working in an industrial environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work consistent night shifts, including weekends and holidays as operational needs dictate.
