Position Summary

StandardAero is seeking a strategic and operationally focused Vice President of Finance to lead financial planning, analysis, and performance management for the Commercial Engine Services sector, a core business unit serving global commercial aviation customers. This executive will be a key member of the sector leadership team, providing financial insight, driving operational efficiency, supporting strategic growth, and ensuring financial integrity in alignment with corporate goals.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader with deep expertise in commercial aviation services, strong business acumen, and experience managing complex global operations. It offers a unique opportunity to shape financial strategy and directly influence sector growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior financial advisor to the Commercial Engine Services sector President and leadership team, providing strategic guidance on investments, pricing, and operational priorities.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and performance analysis to support informed decision-making and business growth.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights to optimize margin, cash flow, and asset utilization.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, engineering, and commercial teams to develop business cases, financial models, and cost reduction initiatives for new programs and capital investments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and corporate policies, including KPIs, P&L, and working capital metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team across multiple business units and locations, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Build strong partnerships with corporate finance, FP&A, treasury, tax, and accounting teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
  • Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and financial alignment for growth initiatives and newly integrated programs.
  • Provide thought leadership in financial strategy, driving performance improvements and enabling sustainable sector growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance role within a global aerospace, aviation MRO, or manufacturing environment
  • Proven expertise in commercial aviation or manufacturing economics, including aftermarket services and cost structure optimization
  • Demonstrated experience managing sector-level financials (>$500M P&L) and leading teams across geographically distributed operations
  • Expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP), and internal controls, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience leveraging these or similar systems
  • Proven ability to influence business strategy, deliver measurable performance improvements (such as cost reduction, margin growth, or operational efficiency), and lead through organizational change
  • Experience presenting to executives and managing stakeholders across multiple functions, demonstrating leadership in driving strategic decisions and outcomes
