Job Description


Pay Rate: $20.25 per hour


(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:






    1. Efficiently move designated trailers as directed by the supervisor, utilizing EV/diesel equipment to transport trailers filled with live chickens from the holding area to the processing area. Using diesel vehicle, removes empty trailers form the "processing" area back to the "holding" area.
    2. Position empty trailers near the offal waste drain for storage drainage. Once full, remove and replace with an empty trailer.
    3. Monitor offal waste trailers to maintain desired weight capacities and label full trailers to support FIFO process with Baker trailers.
    4. Take offal waste trailers to truck scale to verify that trailers are within weight capacities and assist support group with adjusting weights when necessary.
    5. Refuel diesel for refrigerated trailers.
    6. Relocate trailers from dock doors to the yard and ensure they are properly sealed.
    7. Conduct daily inventory of trailers in the yard and their contents.
    8. Responsible for evaluating chicken inventory and for communicating with supervision once minimum or maximum levels are reached

    10. Log and report trailer inventory along with reporting total processed trailers to management on an as-needed basis.
    11. Perform daily inspections of equipment and complete the necessary paperwork.
    12. Report any observations related to equipment damage or animal welfare concerns to management in a timely manner.
    13. Adjust trailer A/C units to the required temperatures.
    14. Maintain legible handwriting in English.
    15. Communicate effectively on the radio in English.





    REQUIREMENTS:




    • Able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency in operating diesel/EV yard goat tractors safely. Plug in EV goat when needed.
    • Capability to obtain a valid CDL.
    • Willingness to work in hot, dusty environments.
    • Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for 8+ hours, with repetitive foot and hand motions, bending, and forceful pulling required.
