Overview

Lead a project to develop, document, and conduct lab experiments, gathering and analyzing data under the guidance of a Quality Engineer. Assist with the organization of Quality Data and information to ensure its easy accessibility and relevance.

Position would provide the intern an opportunity to gain real world experience in a quality testing lab, interactions with Product Development chemists, and exposure to manufacturing processes/procedures.



Responsibilities

    Lab testing of paints, colorants, and/or resins as necessary. Testing includes basic paint/colorant test methods including viscosity, pH, WPG, Gloss/Sheen, Tint Strength, and performing drawdowns. Basic resin testing may include %non-volatiles, pH, grit, and particle size.
  • Perform data analysis and present to key stakeholders. Presentation would be used to support decision making process on possible specification or process changes
  • Ensures lab cleanliness standards are adhered to
  • Follows site-wide safety rules and requirements for PPE

Review and update test methods for standardization across all sites



Qualifications

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Excellent analytical skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Knowledge of basic lab techniques and maintenance, including proper lab sampling, labeling and housekeeping

Able to travel by car to NJ based locations (including Flanders NJ, Montvale NJ, and

Newark NJ). Other locations may be identified during internship period

Looking for intern with a track in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology.
