DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will serve as the Facility Medical Director, overseeing medical care and other designated services within the facility. You will coordinate medical care delivery and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care policies and procedures that align with current standards of practice. All duties will be carried out in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, using evidence-based approaches and practices recognized by professional organizations and accrediting bodies. You will act as the attending physician for residents, holding primary responsibility for their medical care. This includes diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and developing care plans aimed at maintaining and improving residents' physical and mental health. In addition, you will supervise the certified registered nurse practitioner's staff. Your supervisory responsibilities will include planning and assigning work, setting priorities, participating in hiring decisions, evaluating performance, approving leave, initiating disciplinary actions, identifying training needs, and providing coaching and guidance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.

Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
