Manager, Corporate Giving - Volunteerism & Community Engagement
The Manager of Corporate Giving leads Niagara Cares' volunteer strategy, community engagement efforts, and plant-level community impact investments across the organization. This role designs, scales, and sustains meaningful volunteer programs and oversees small, locally driven grantmaking that strengthens communities where Niagara operates. The manager also stewards select national nonprofit relationships and contributes to the overall effectiveness, cohesion, and success of the Niagara Cares team. This is a strategic and hands-on role for a leader who builds trust, executes with care, and centers community voice.
Essential Functions Volunteer Strategy & Programs
- Design and lead a national volunteerism strategy that is locally relevant, scalable, and aligned with Niagara Cares priorities.
- Develop and manage signature volunteer programs (plant-based volunteer initiatives, skills-based volunteering, disaster response, and community events).
- Ensure volunteer opportunities are accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for employees across shifts, locations, and roles.
- Establish clear goals, participation targets, and success metrics for volunteer engagement.
Plant Community Impact Grants
- Oversee the plant community impact program, including small local grants that support trusted nonprofit partners in Niagara communities.
- Partner with plant leadership, HR managers, and local teams to identify priority community needs and appropriate grantee partners.
- Ensure grants are aligned with Niagara Cares strategy, compliant with internal standards, and focused on direct community benefit.
- Track grant outcomes and translate local impact into clear, compelling insights for internal stakeholders.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and steward strong relationships with nonprofit partners, community leaders, and local stakeholders, prioritizing trusted, impact-driven organizations.
- Manage a portfolio of select national nonprofit partners, ensuring strong alignment, accountability, and mutual value.
- Serve as a thoughtful partner supporting community-led efforts and respecting local expertise.
- Support community presence at key local and national events in collaboration with Corporate Communications.
Employee Engagement & Internal Enablement
- Partner closely with HR, Operations, Communications, and Plant Leadership to embed volunteerism and community impact into the employee experience.
- Create clear toolkits, playbooks, and guidance for plant teams to confidently lead volunteer activities and local giving.
- Train and support volunteer champions and community leads across the network.
- Elevate employee and community stories through internal communications and storytelling.
Program Management, Compliance & Team Contribution
- Manage volunteerism and community engagement budgets with strong stewardship and accountability.
- Oversee risk management, safety, and compliance for volunteer activities and local grants, in partnership with Legal and HR.
- Track participation, hours, grant outcomes, and community impact; use data to inform learning and continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute to the overall success of the Niagara Cares team through collaboration, shared ownership of goals, and support of cross-functional initiatives.
- Represent Niagara Cares with professionalism, warmth, and integrity in all internal and external settings.

Additionally, the ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate:
- Experience managing volunteer programs and community investments across multiple sites or regions.
- Experience overseeing grant programs or philanthropic investments, particularly small local or plant-based grants.
- Strong relationship-builder with credibility among nonprofit partners and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organized project manager with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on execution roles.
- Excellent communication skills - clear, warm, and grounded.
- Experience working with frontline or manufacturing-based employee populations strongly preferred.
- Travel: up to 25%.

$123,641.54 - $176,189.21 / Yearly
Bonus Target: 10% Annual
