Responsibilities

Sabre Systems supports innovative tactical communications efforts for our military customer, focused on developing and evaluating next-generation networking technologies.We are looking for an RF Network Engineer to assist in the design, development, and evaluation of tactical networking solutions and technologies to work in a hands-on environment supporting the United States Army in the Aberdeen MD area. Successful candidates will engage in supporting projects aimed at leveraging commercial technologies and products with the goal of adapting these to meet military needs. The position will involve design, development, test, and evaluation of a broad range of wireless networking technologies, products and solutions for application to current and future military networks and systems. The position also requires the ability to integrate (by designing software and or hardware interfaces) disparate commercial wireless products into current and future military tactical networks. The candidate will be required to work in a team environment and must have good communication and briefing skills.

Location: On-site at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

The duties of the RF network engineer will include:

  • Support of design concepts focused on leveraging commercial wireless technologies for integration into military tactical networks
  • Evaluation and analysis of RF networking solutions and products developed by third parties as well as in house
  • Modification and adaptation of commercial wireless technologies
  • Instrumentation and automated control of benchtop test equipment including Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Integration of commercial wireless network products into tactical networks
  • Conduct and support lab and field testing
  • Orchestration of laboratory demonstrations for a wide range of audiences ranging from technical to non-technical

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments
  • Ability to document work in form of both documents and presentations
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new things and develop new skills
  • Knowledge and experience with wireless technologies is a plus
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C++ or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with developing automated test scripts is a plus.
  • Experience with instrumentation and automation of laboratory test equipment is a plus.

Clearance:

Candidate must possess a Secret security clearance or be eligible to receive a Secret security clearance.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00
