What You Will Do:

  • Reads work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding required duties. Interprets assembly instructions, drawings, schematics and engineering specifications to build/test quality products.
  • Assembles different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Completely assembles, tests, disassembles and repairs products built on the line.
  • Sets up moderate to semi-complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record assembly conformance to test specifications. Sets up test stands with appropriate plumbing for pneumatic and hydrostatic tests from required product test specifications.
  • Completes required test documentation including test reports.
  • Inspects, understands and documents all materials, heat numbers, components, subassemblies and specifications to assure they meet the accepted quality standards.
  • Completes required inspection documentation, marking of heat #'s and nameplate.
  • Participates in Lean events with active involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of tools and machinery while performing daily tasks.
  • Must immediately recognize issues in production and report safety or quality concern(s) to a lead, supervisor, engineer, manager, EHS or Quality representative.

Position Details:

  • Candidate must reside in Houston, TX or surrounding areas
  • Work week and shift: 5:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday, 5:00AM to 1:30PM on Saturday
  • Compensation package offered: $20 - 22.00/hour, quarterly bonus eligibility of up to $400/quarter
  • New hire training provided

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of manufacturing assembly and testing equipment in an mechanical manufacturing environment
  • Able to demonstrate clear English communication; including, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension of the language.
  • Experience in an ERP business system, quality management software, MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, presses, testing equipment, torque wrenches and other assembly tools.
  • Able to read and interpret assembly drawings and bill of materials.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US. No immigration support provided for this position.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, seeing, speaking is constant and required greater than 66% of the time.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, carrying up to 50 lbs., reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, working with the hands, wrists and arms and fine finger manipulation is frequent and required from up to 66% of the time.
  • This role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Understanding of middleware software applications.
