Utz Quality Foods is growing in Kings Mountain, NC, and we're looking for a Dayshift Yard Jockey to join our team! If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and playing a key role in keeping operations moving, this is a great opportunity to join a stable, team-focused manufacturing environment.

This role is critical to supporting our shipping and production teams by managing trailer movement, maintaining yard organization, and ensuring materials are where they need to be to keep production running smoothly.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:30PM, with occasional overtime on Fridays.

Responsibilities:



  • Move trailers in the yard to support shipping and production needs
  • Provide empty trailers for outbound deliveries
  • Support transfers and material moves
  • Complete daily yard checks and maintain trailer inventory
  • Communicate with shipping, supervisors, and team members on trailer needs
  • Perform accurate Yard Management System data entry
  • Manage inbound and outbound trailer moves
  • Assist with loading and unloading product when required
  • Follow all CDL, DOT, HOS, and safety requirements
  • Report unsafe equipment or conditions immediately
  • Follow all food safety and company procedures
  • Support cross-functional teams to keep operations running efficiently


Requirements:



  • Valid Class A CDL and a clean driving record are required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple trailer moves
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
  • Safety-focused mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to operate production and data entry equipment.
