Network Engineer II

Under limited supervision, the Network Engineer IIis responsible for a wide-range of break-fix and deployment activities within the access network including Integrated Cable Modem Termination Systems (iCMTS), Optical Line Terminals (OLT) and hardware associated with the Converged Interconnect Network (CIN) that supports our Distributed Access Architecture (DAA). As a Network Engineer II you will alsoassistin the planning and implementation of network enhancements across the access network while ensuring adherence to corporate standards andmaintainingnetwork reliability.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Responsible forthe effective resolution of network outages and impairments to ensure the highest level of customer uptime across the network.

• Actively involved in break-fix activities related to the access network and partners with internal verticals to drive customerimpactingevents to resolution.

• Supports the deployment and activation of accessnetworkhardware and software across the networkwhile adhering to corporate change management policies.

• Responsible for the implementation of approved network architecture and designs.

• Assistsin the development and documentation of technical standards.

• Works on one or more projects as a teammember.

• Knows,understandsand follows company policy.

• Performs other duties as requested by Manager.

Working Conditions

• May work in Network Lab environment
• 24X7 Network Operations environment
• Must be able to work the following shift: Monday through Friday 9:00AM - 5:00PMand on-call rotation, as necessary.
• Occasional travel as required

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience

• 3+ years of data network experience

Skills

• Ability to use personal computer and software applications.

• Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport)

• Ability to work in a team environment.

• Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in network devices and basic network appliances.

• Advanced knowledge of networkdesigningsoftware, such as Visio.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimumone(1) year operating Ethernet,IP, Optical, RFand/orDWDM-based opticalnetworkarchitectures/designs that are customer-facing.

• Minimum one (1) year Routing Protocol experience - BGP, IS-IS, MPLS

Education

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

• Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)

• CableLabs/ SCTE Certification

• Vendor Specific Certifications and/or Training (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia)
