Program Details: Start Date: June 1, 2026 Duration: 10 weeks Location: Denver, CO (Onsite) Position Description Zayo is seeking a motivated and talented Network Automation Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in network automation and data analysis in the telecommunications industry. Our Network Automation Engineer Intern will work closely with our experienced professionals on innovative projects aimed at optimizing network operations through automation solutions. Responsibilities Assist in analyzing network data and identifying opportunities for automation and optimization. Work with the Networks & Technology team to: extract, overlay the different data sets, identify algorithms and apply them, visualizing different scenarios and applying a cost analysis. Support the development and implementation of automation scripts and tools using Python and/or R, or Java, and some of the database technologies. Exposure to or use of AI engines, ML and pattern recognition for anomaly detections. Contribute to the documentation of automation processes and procedures. Participate in team meetings and project discussions to gain insights into network automation best practices. Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Management, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or related field. Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or similar. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Eagerness to learn and contribute to innovative projects in network automation. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with/exposure to AI (Artificial Intelligence) engines and ML (Machine Learning). Knowledge of database technologies and SQL. Ability to analyze data for different use cases Previous internship or coursework in network automation or related fields. Enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and approaches to automation. The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions.
