TOTE Services seeks a qualified individual to serve as the Time and Material (T&M) Specialist to oversee the coordination and execution of T&M projects and activities within a shipyard environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ship construction activities and experience with all facets of shipyard production processes, build strategies, and system testing. This includes an understanding of steel fabrication, coatings, electrical, machinery, piping systems, and more with the purpose of mitigating rework in a T&M environment. The candidate should be able to recognize early when the shipyard's approach is resulting in excessive or undue rework and help implement corrective measures. The individual will observe project completion activities and monitor all shipyard employees and subcontractors to verify efficient work practices and productivity. The T&M Specialist is responsible for observing and documenting efficient management of time and material resources associated with shipyard projects. This includes monitoring equipment and consumables usage, documenting project progress, class and specification compliance, subcontractor execution, and materials management practices. The position is also responsible for reviewing shipyard invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness. This position will also provide support to other inspection trades for hold and completion callouts. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: * Assists the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals. * Performs other related duties as assigned. * Adherence to the Integrated Management System that covers Quality, Environmental, and Safety. Minimum Qualifications: * Familiarity with shipyard safety regulations and environmental compliance. * Excellent organizational and planning skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff. * Proficient with inventory reporting systems. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education, Licensure and/or Experience: * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * 5 years of experience working in a shipyard/trade management or in roles of similar responsibility. * Strong knowledge of shipyard operations, construction processes, and materials. * Familiarity with relevant software tools for project management. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock and toxic vapors. Perform these duties acknowledging the possible dangers onboard vessels such as safely maneuvering throughout vessel(s) - i.e. ladders/staircases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, noise level exposure can increase during visits to the vessels. Proper PPE must be worn.
