GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director, EH&S provides strategic leadership for all EHS programs across the Foothill Ranch campus. The role ensures compliance with California, federal, and local regulations; aligns site practices with EssilorLuxottica standards; and drives a strong EHS culture through operational excellence, continuous improvement, and effective partnership with campus leadership and the North America EHS Center of Excellence.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Establish and execute the campus EHS strategy aligned with global & regional organizational objectives and corporate frameworks.
  • Serve as a senior advisor on EHS risks, performance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish governance mechanisms, performance standards, and accountability structures that reinforce a strong EHS culture.
  • Drive organizational alignment across Foothill Ranch operations & departments.
  • Oversee development and continuous improvement of all EHS policies & risk reduction initiatives.
  • Network and benchmark with other Frames manufacturing sites in North America & globally to leverage and align best practices specific to these operations.
  • Maintain effective relationships & lead interactions with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA, DTSC, CUPA, SCAQMD and all applicable regulations.
  • Create & maintain advanced EHS metrics and predictive indicators.
  • Advance a proactive, prevention-focused safety culture.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing EHS team and ensure strong succession planning.
  • Embed EHS into new product, equipment, and process development.
  • Drive adoption and maintenance of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and sustainability practices within site operations.
  • Oversee safety data sheet (SDS) development for materials manufactured at the site and shipped to other EssilorLuxottica facilities globally.
  • Oversee loss prevention, Workers' Compensation & Claims Management processes
  • Other duties as assigned


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • BS/BA in Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Ergonomics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years leading teams
  • Expertise in California & Federal regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong executive communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading change in a fast-paced, changing/growing large manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in global matrixed organizations
  • Ability to work onsite to support manufacturing operations, including flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to meet the demands of a 24/7 production environment.
  • Strong ability to engage directly in handson business operations when needed


PREFERRED QUALIFICATONS:



  • Master's degree in safety/environmental, engineering, or related technical field
  • Certified Safety Professional or other EHS certifications
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish a plus


Pay Range:161,551.38-227,221.60
