Tank Builders are responsible for assembling aquariums using processed glass panels, plastic tank frames, and silicone sealant as part of the production of finished Aquarium Kits sold directly to consumers. This role involves constructing aquariums ranging in size from 2.5 gallons to 180 gallons, ensuring all units meet quality and safety standards prior to packaging and distribution.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all established Safety protocols (strict adherence PPE requirements and Team assembly on larger tank sizes).
  • Ensure production meets quality standards. Accurately fill out Product Quality Verification (PQV) worksheets.
  • Use daily timesheets to ensure correct materials are being used and production target quantities are completed.
  • Keep accurate count of aquarium production and report scrap.
  • Ensure the work area is clean & organized using LEAN / 5S principles.
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and aquarium assembly "best practices".
  • Work with Plant cross-functional Teams (Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, New Product Development).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Profile

  • High School graduate (equivalent GED).
  • 3 to 5 years of assembly skills in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Exhibits initiative as a self-starter, with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Collaborates with team members during the assembly of larger aquariums.
  • Maintains a strong work ethic with a commitment to reliability and consistent attendance.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to typical shop conditions, including noise, dust, odors, and fumes. The role requires prolonged periods of standing, as well as frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the facility.
