We are looking for a highly skilled and motivatedSupplier Industrialization Engineerto support our solar product development teams, manufacturing team and partners in supply chain in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain components and parts.TheSupplierIndustrialization Engineerbuilds andleveragesstrong working relationships with our engineering teams, manufacturing team and suppliers toassurecost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work towardsupplier's capability and qualitysystemarewell understood to meet our product technical, quality and cost requirement byleveragingtheir knowledge of the product and industry standardto achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.
What You'll Do
- Create andmaintainschedules for photovoltaic cell development projects according to Tesla specifications, including all activities necessary for development of industry-leading products
- Verify effectiveness of supplier quality systems by performing supplier audits and use data to score suppliers
- Validate and improve supplier processes within Tesla Qualification Process, including establishing inspection standards, studying supplier capacity and capability, and analyzing measurement systems
- Coordinate with Design Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing Engineering, and suppliers relating to product changes, quality performance, and corrective actions
- Perform pre-shipment inspections of cell products at supplier locations and first article inspections at Tesla, and ongoing monitoring of supplier process and reliability testing data
- Assistwith contract negotiations by providing or analyzing relevant data related to provisions
- Drive cost reductions and product optimizations through synthesis of supplier data and Tesla product requirements, supporting new specification development and proposing changes to improve existing specifications
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related Solar product development or operation experience in Ingot, wafer and cell or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of solar product related mat'l and process such as sliver paste, chemical used and cell manufacturing process
- Knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, and failure modes of electronics
- Analytical skills using Excel, JMP,SPC. Versed in problem solving techniques including 8Dmethodology
- Must be a self-starter and adaptable to a rapidly changing environmennt
- Ability to travel to local and international suppliers 30-40% of the time, specifically China
- Ability to speak, read or write in Mandarin Chinese preferred

Expected Compensation
$108,000 - $198,000/annual salary + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
