What this job involves:

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for managing properties in accordance with JLL standards and procedures and the Management Agreement. They are tasked with achieving financial results, operating objectives, and client and tenant satisfaction. The GM works directly with clients to understand their investment objectives and develop property-specific strategic plans. They oversee the implementation of approved initiatives and programs by managing the property team and are responsible for maintaining strong communication with building owners and tenants.

The portfolio:

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational excellence across a 5-building portfolio totaling approximately 800,000 square feet in Falls Church and Chantilly. This role combines high-level oversight with hands-on management, including direct supervision of senior support functions and a dedicated Property Manager for the Chantilly assets, while serving as the on-site leader for a prestigious Trophy asset in Falls Church. The successful candidate will drive operational performance, tenant satisfaction, and asset value across this diverse portfolio through effective team leadership and comprehensive property management expertise.

Location: On-site at Falls Church management office during normal business hours and available as needed during emergencies or to comply with property operations

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead strategic planning initiatives and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion

  • Develop and implement annual operating budgets and CAM reconciliations, reforecasts, and capital plans, and ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting. Analyze financial performance, prepare detailed reports, and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards across all managed operations.

  • Implement a tenant satisfaction program, and meet regularly with tenants to ensure a successful program

  • Perform lease administration tasks, including lease abstracting, tenant move-in/move-out coordination, and file management

  • Manage complex client relationships and follow comprehensive account standards of procedure (SOP) that align with client objectives

  • Perform project management functions for capital and tenant improvement projects

  • Oversee competitive bidding process for all third-party contracted services and ensure compliance with JLL standards

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, supporting team members' career advancement and skill enhancement

  • All other tasks which may be required to comply with Property Management Agreements, local ordinances, or as necessary to ensure property operations

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or related field

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial real estate, property management, or related industry

  • Proven track record of managing P&L responsibility and achieving financial targets in a multi-million dollar operation

  • Demonstrated expertise in client relationship management and business development within the commercial real estate sector

  • Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

  • Proficiency in real estate management software, CRM systems, Yardi, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Valid real estate license or ability to obtain within the specified timeframe

Preferred qualifications:

  • Real Estate License and Property Managers License, required within six (6) months if not currently licensed

  • Professional certifications such as LEED GA, CPM, or equivalent industry credentials

  • Strong network of industry relationships and demonstrated thought leadership in real estate

Location: On-site presence is required

Salary: $126,500 - $137,500

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
