Cranbrook Schools seeks an accomplished, energetic, and student-centered educator to serve as the Associate Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach. This is a unique opportunity to help shape and elevate one of the most visible and high-participation programs within a premier independent school environment.

The girls volleyball program is well-positioned for meaningful growth and competitive advancement, supported by an engaged community and strong institutional alignment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building a cohesive, mission-driven program capable of sustained success at the highest levels of interscholastic competition, while contributing to the broader educational experience of our student-athletes.

The ideal candidate will be:



  • A skilled coach and teacher of the game with experience at the high school, collegiate, or elite club level.


  • Deeply committed to the mission of independent school education, valuing the integration of athletics, academics, and character development.


  • A relationship-driven leader who connects effectively with student-athletes, families, and colleagues.


  • Intentional in building a culture defined by accountability, discipline, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.


  • Motivated to contribute to a collaborative, mission-aligned athletic department.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Support and help lead all aspects of the girls volleyball program, including the design and implementation of a clear developmental pathway across all levels.


  • Plan and execute purposeful, high-level training sessions that emphasize fundamentals, systems of play, and competitive readiness.


  • Assist in establishing a year-round approach to player development, including off-season training, strength and conditioning, and skill progression.


  • Mentor student-athletes in a manner that reflects the values of Cranbrook Schools, prioritizing growth both on and off the court.


  • Partner with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to build and sustain a program culture aligned with institutional expectations.


  • Communicate effectively and consistently with players, families, faculty, and the broader school community.


  • Support college placement efforts for student-athletes aspiring to compete at the next level.


Requirements:



  • Demonstrated ability to develop players and contribute to building competitive, high-character teams.


  • Strong knowledge of contemporary volleyball systems, training methodologies, and player development models.


  • Familiarity with the college recruiting landscape and a demonstrated ability to guide student-athletes through that process is preferred.


  • Meaningful connections within the club volleyball community are highly desirable.


  • A clear commitment to advancing the mission and values of Cranbrook Schools.
