Project Controls Manager


Summary


This position is Remote. Responsible for the direction and performance of all Project Controls activities on the Project to support the Project Manager in managing the Project from a cost and schedule perspective. This includes utilizing current processes and procedures, while also improving and advancing existing processes as necessary. The individual must have the knowledge and experience to manage these aspects of the Project as well as interact effectively with all project team members and stakeholders.


Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:



  • Lead Project Controls on major company projects. This includes supervising, training, and development of the Team for the Project
  • Prepare and implement the Project Controls Delivery Plan for the Project
  • Define and manage to a WBS structure
  • Work with the ERP team to define project set-up and reporting requirements
  • Effectively communicate project scope, budget, plan, and progress to stakeholders
  • Ensure proper change management procedures are implemented and followed on the Project
  • Coordinate resources and participants engaged in the Project Controls activities
  • Compile, review, and analyze the Project Controls related data
  • During Pre-Construction or commercial development activities define the anticipated cost spend curve and schedule of values to define CPI and SPI metrics. Track CPI and SPI during Project delivery.
  • Implement and compile actual and committed cost, budget, progress and schedule data for leadership review
  • Create and Manage Internal Monthly Report for Stakeholders
  • Ensure Project team members are providing and analyzing Project metrics (KPIs). Work collaboratively with Project team members to develop and implement mitigation plans when needed. Discuss trends and leading indicators with the project team and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement Project Controls best practices and procedures as directed
  • Assist/train Project Management in use of Project Management and Project Controls tools
  • Assist Estimating in gathering and analyzing actual return data
  • Provide Support on proposals
  • Support management in reviewing Project Controls workflow software to improve efficiency and execution
  • Works independently on complex assignments
  • Develop estimates utilizing inputs from stakeholders representing all Owner/Developer costs
  • Understand, monitor and mitigate the Projects risk profile working with the Project Manager
  • Define a process, during project close out to archive Project data (key material quantities, unit rates and costs) is archived and available for Benchmarking purposes to assist subsequent Estimating efforts.


Requirements


Experience and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years E and C industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in schedule development, integration, and analysis
  • PMP Certification a plus


Knowledge and Skills:



  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Primavera P6
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments
  • Exposure to all stages of projects from pursuit, negotiation, award, delivery, startup, to commercial operation.
  • Exceptional team building skills and ability to collaborate with groups throughout the company
  • Ability to appreciate and respectfully debate different points of view and opinions

Work Environment:



  • Travel to jobsites will be as necessary
  • When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
