Gulfstream is seeking a Numerical Control Engineer 2 to support advanced NC programming and precision manufacturing for our worldclass aircraft. This role plays a key part in machining strategy, cutter path development, and tooling solutions for NC milling machines and lathes across our production environment. Unique Skills CATIA experience preferred Mastercam experience preferred What You'll Do Analyze engineering drawings, tool designs, and 3D models to determine optimal machining methods Select appropriate machines, material cut sizes, and machining sequences Develop cutter motion logic, spindle speeds, and feed rates Verify all cutter paths using Vericut to ensure accuracy and compliance Create operator setup sheets, flat pattern mylars, and required templates Produce 2D CATIA tool drawings supporting manufacturing needs Collaborate with planners, tool designers, engineers, and customers to finalize machining plans Support the development of NC policies, procedures, and specifications What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 18+ months of machining, planning, tool design, or related manufacturing experience Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints Familiarity with machining methods, drafting practices, and technical documentation Strong math and geometry skills Proficiency in CATIA modeling, drafting, and CATIA NC Mill Clear communication skills and ability to work crossfunctionally Why Gulfstream Play a key role in building the world's finest business aircraft. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months of machining, planning, tool design, or related manufacturing experience. Position Purpose: Under general supervision, perform activities related to numerical control (NC) programming, including machining methods, tooling concepts, and programs for NC milling machines and lathes. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Conduct a thorough analysis of engineering drawings, tool design drawings, and/or electronic models, to determine the optimal machining methods, selection of machine tool, and material cut size. . Interact with planners, tool designers, engineering, and customers as required, to finalize plan. Develop cutter motion logic per operation sequence, selecting proper spindle speeds and feed rates. Perform a thorough check on all aspects of the program and verify cutter paths through the utilization of Vericut. . Develop operator set-up sheets for numerical control machines. . Develop flat pattern mylars and templates as required. Produce 2-D Catia tool drawings as required. . Additional Functions: May represent department in contacts with other departments, and may be required. to coordinate efforts with vendors or customers. . Assist in formulating Numerical Control policies, procedures, and specifications as required. . Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Familiarity with various machining methods, technical writing, and computer use. Must possess good drafting, math, and geometry skills. Must be proficient with Catia modeling, drafting, and Catia NC Mill function. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
