Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a BIM Directorto join our dynamic Design & Digital Technology Group. This position reports to the Discipline Leader and is responsible for establishing and delivering a comprehensive Building Sector BIM standards roadmap for Woolpert, ensuring consistent, scalable digital delivery across Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP), and Structural disciplines. The BIM Director will lead cross-discipline collaboration to develop, govern, and continuously improve BIM/CAD standards, model quality expectations, and enable resources - while championing innovation and cutting-edge design/digital technology for the AEC industry. #LI-SN1

What You Will Do:



  • Develop and maintain a Building Sector BIM standards roadmap (creation, adoption, governance, and continuous improvement) organized in phases with clear outcomes and adoption targets.
  • Establish and govern Building Sector-focused standards and resources (templates, content libraries, naming conventions, deliverable requirements, and checklists) aligned with Woolpert-wide baseline production standards.
  • Lead outreach and alignment with Architecture, MEP, and Structural team leads to ensure consistency of standards across Woolpert's Building Sector and to drive coordinated, practical adoption.
  • Define and drive expectations for model quality, model hygiene, and auditing practices to increase consistency, reduce rework, and improve deliverable reliability.
  • Oversee standards implementation for Autodesk production workflows, with strong expertise in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D as they relate to Building Sector delivery requirements.
  • Evaluate, standardize, and enable Revit add-ins and productivity tooling (e.g., Guardian, Ideate, PyRevit, Pirros, and comparable tools), including guidance for configuration, governance, and scalable deployment.
  • Champion innovation and cutting-edge AEC design/digital technology by identifying high-impact opportunities for automation, workflow modernization, and emerging capabilities that improve quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with leadership to promote BIM/DDT capabilities, support strategic pursuits, and strengthen Woolpert's ability to lead coordinated multi-discipline BIM delivery.
  • Guide and mentor BIM managers/coordinators and project teams through training, enablement, and standards adoption activities; helps drive internal learning content and ongoing capability development.
  • Coordinate documentation of responsibilities and data flows related to standards governance and (where applicable) CAD/BIM program roadmap practices and publishing pathways for authoritative content.


What You Will Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Information/Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Professional licensure (Architect/PE) and/or recognized BIM/VDC credentials (Autodesk certifications or equivalent) highly preferred.
  • 10 or more years of combined experience in the following areas is required:

    • Demonstrated progressive experience leading BIM/Design Technology/Standards initiatives in AEC building delivery.
    • Developing, implementing, and governing BIM standards and resources used by multiple disciplines.
    • Driving cross-discipline collaboration and adoption of standardized practices across distributed teams.
    • Defining expectations for model quality, auditing, and/or model hygiene to improve consistency and reliability of deliverables.


  • Role-relevant BIM/Autodesk training credentials or equivalent evidence of advanced competency in BIM standards leadership required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk BIM/CAD ecosystems supporting Building Sector delivery, including Revit-based workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards development, governance approaches, and roadmap-style implementation planning.
  • Expert ability to communicate and implement BIM requirements across Architecture, MEP, and Structural stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of CAD standards concepts and how discipline-specific standards align to enterprise baselines.
  • Strong capability to define and improve model quality expectations (auditability, consistency, completeness) at an enterprise/practice level.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and advocate for innovation, automation, and improved digital workflows.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
