MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This includes the responsibilities and duties of the job and should cover all performance areas.

1. Quality

Must follow and enforce Silgan Safety, Quality and GMP policies. Knowledge of NCR procedures and daily effort to reduce the number of NCR's. Responsible for knowledge of Quality Standards, Specifications, and Quality Complaints. Know all aspects of operation of Quality Equipment on floor and in Q/A Lab. Aware of all aspects of Exception Reports. Review exception reports for content and accuracy on daily basis.
Review and sign all Quality Line checks as assigned. Knowledge and understanding of Silgan quality procedures and manufacturing standards. Personal inspection of product quality. Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement. Perform specialized measurements of product per customer requirements.

Investigate, evaluate and take appropriate action to maintain quality within established standards and guidelines. Actively pursue opportunities to improve product quality.

2. Safety

Responsible for enforcing safety policies and reporting safety violations. Know and apply written safety procedures. Inspect work areas, and look for unsafe acts. Reporting, investigating accidents & near misses. Enforce safety rules.

Train, evaluate, and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.

3. Production

Train personnel Maximize production of quality products. Follow Silgan standard practices Maximize floor time and personal observations of problem areas Review production reports Effectively use verbal and written communications Prepare necessary paperwork for production jobs as directed. Knowledge of machine priorities and be able to allocate the resources accordingly. Troubleshoot paperwork and production errors and recommend solutions to issues. Complete necessary NCR paperwork and follow through of open and closed NCR's. Assume full Coordinator responsibilities in Coordinator absence. Investigate daily low efficient machines and report to Supervisor. Have full knowledge of status of every machine as each shift progresses. Coordinate packer assignments on floor as necessary.

4. Employee Relations

Assist with employee counseling as necessary. Effectively provide assignments and direction for employees, and treat them with respect, dignity, fairness and honesty.
Administer both company and local policies and procedures Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards Promote effective interactive communication with employees, between peers, staff and management. Maintain employee self esteem Focus on employee behavior Encourage employee participation

5. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: SPC Knowledge

EXPERIENCE:

Required: N/A

Preferred: High-volume output environment, shop floor experience, bottle experience

SKILLS:

Required: Excel, math skills

Preferred: SPC knowledge, electronic measuring devices

Hours 8:00 pm-8:00 am

Salary $19.75 plus $1.00 per hour night shift differential
