We are hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic General Maintenance Worker (GMW) to analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild and maintain compressors and pneumatic tools. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic GMW must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by regulations, policies and safety procedures.

Salary

$26.99/ hr. plus $14.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates and inspects compressors or equipment to diagnose defects
  • Performs maintenance and repair activities on various types of compressors
  • Diagnoses, services and repairs various systems that are found on compressed air systems
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, changes filters and oil
  • Will assist in keeping shop clean
  • Will assist Heavy Equipment Operators when needed
  • Will work with mechanics to train in heavy equipment repair and assist when required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
  • Some knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles and engines
  • Some knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to read manuals and schematics
  • Adaptable and flexible in work situations
  • PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies
    • Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Valid driver's license complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance required
  • OVERTIME- nights and weekends
  • U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Compressor experience
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
  • Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
  • Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
